Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services: Mold Information

Recently our office was made aware of a program called the “Emergency Watershed Protection Program” that might be a valuable resource for local communities and individuals affected by recent flooding.  This program was authorized by Congress to respond to emergencies created by natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, ice events and wildfires.  This program is administered by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) which provides technical and financial assistance to protect life and property threatened by excessive erosion and flooding caused by a disaster event.

This agency, according to their representative, can assist in such things as debris removal from waterways, reinforcement of eroding banks and roadways, and other storm related erosion issues.  Here is some information to assist our local communities should there be a need of these services.  Below is the brochure for the NRCA, a question and answer sheet on the Watershed Protection Program, and the contact information for the local representative.
