Hossein Fallahzadeh, MD, was a surgeon in Somerset, having practiced for nearly 50 years. He was also a long-time board member of the Lake Cumberland District Board of Health. He also served on the local Pulaski County Board of health. He championed services for the poor and underserved. He was a defender and advocate for the health of the community.
Richard Miles, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He practiced medicine in Russell County for over 40 years. He is a long-time member of the local and district board of health. Dr. Miles is also the Chief Medical Officer for Russell County Hospital and Medical Director for Rural Health Clinic Family Practice Associates.
Christy Stearns has served many years as the local Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent in Clinton County. She has served on the local Board of Health and has been very active in supporting public health in general, specifically in nutrition, physical activity, and diabetes prevention initiatives.
Joseph Weigel, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He has practiced in Somerset for over 40 years. He was instrumental in starting the teaching program at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital as well as getting automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in every school in Pulaski County.
Joe Silvers, RPh has served many years as a community pharmacist in the Lake Cumberland area, most recently and serving longest the citizens of Wayne County. He has served on the District Board of Health for many years. He also currently serves as the Chair of the Wayne County local Board of Health. Joe has been very active in supporting public health during his career. He has a reputation for advocating for his patients and their well-being
