Administrative Specialist I
The Lake Cumberland District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Specialist I based at the District Office in Somerset, KY.
General Duties Include: The Health Department is seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Administrative Specialist I to provide administrative and advanced secretarial support to Human Resources operations. This position performs a variety of confidential clerical and administrative duties requiring independent judgment, initiative, and attention to detail, and supports recruitment and onboarding, employee records, scheduling, correspondence, benefits support, and general HR functions. The role serves as a trusted resource to employees and supervisors, contributing to the consistent application of personnel policies and the efficient operation of a mission-driven public health organization.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Computer Science, or related degree — OR — High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience in administrative responsibilities such as office management, data entry and analysis, personnel planning, or closely related activities. Education in the subjects listed above will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis, not to exceed four (4) years.
Starting Salary: $17.04 per hour (5% increment added to salary upon successful completion of an initial six-month performance probationary period.)
Merit Salary/Position Grade: 14

Health Environmentalist I (Transcript Submission Required)

LCDHD is accepting applications to establish a register for local Health Environmentalist positions within our 10-county service area.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a college or university with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223.
Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Note: an individual upon employment must become registered under the provisions of KRS 223 to remain a permanent employee per Administrative Regulations 902 KAR 8:080.
