Utilizing funds received from a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant for their 10-county service area, the Lake Cumberland District Health Department is partnering with a consortium of area doctors, mental health facilities, and detention centers to reduce morbidity and mortality related to Opioid-Use Disorder (OUD). At the mid-way point of the 3 year grant, the Rural Health Opioid Program (RHOP) is showing promising results. Rural Health Opioid Program (RHOP)

The Lake Cumberland District Health Department is partnering with a consortium of area doctors, mental health facilities, and detention centers to reduce morbidity and mortality related to Opioid-Use Disorder (OUD).  The Rural Health Opioid Program (RHOP) offers case management to those who live in the Lake Cumberland area at risk for OUD.  Education related to opioid use disorder is provided to individuals who are currently incarcerated, the general public, and healthcare providers.  Referrals to receive services are received through in person self referral in the detention centers, court systems, health care providers, or general public.
