During the first five years, children of full-time working parents may spend more time in out-of-home childcare facilities, than the total hours spent in school from kindergarten to high school. Child Care Health Consultation (CCHC) Program provides consultation on health, safety and nutrition to childcare providers. A Trained CCHC will work with child care providers and parents to improve your child’s health, safety and nutrition while they’re at a childcare facility. The health, safety and nutrition of the children in our communities is important to your local health department, and the CCHC Program is a great way to help our children get what they need during these important years.
The CCHC provides:
- on-sight assistance in the classroom with diapering and handwashing procedures,
- development and review of health and safety policies and procedures,
- playground safety assessment or consultation,
- work to assist Child Care Aware of Kentucky with licensing visits and to prepare a plan of action,
- training, and health nutrition and safety.
