Vicky Albertson is a Registered Nurse and has been in the Diabetes Education Program since June 2014 and Program Manager for the Diabetes Program since 2022. She became a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist in March 2017. She is a trained Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program. She is a member of the Kentucky Diabetes Network. Vicky was a Licensed Practical Nurse from 1987 until she received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Somerset Community College in 2010. Vicky worked in home health for 9 years before she came to LCDHD in 2002 – working in the Clinic as well as the School Nurse program before transferring to the Diabetes Program. Vicky’s office is located at the Clinton County Health Department in Albany.

Janet is a registered nurse and has been with the Diabetes Education Program since September 2014. She teaches Diabetes Education in Adair, Casey, Green, and Taylor County. Janet is a trained Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program and is a member of the Kentucky Diabetes Network. She also provides the Biometric Screenings in Casey, Green, and Taylor Counties. Janet received her BSN from UK College of Nursing in 1992. Janet worked as a critical care nurse 5 years prior to her employment with LCDHD. While at LCDHD she worked as a clinic nurse for 8 years and as a school nurse for 9 years before transferring to the diabetes program. Her office is located at Taylor County Health Department.
Jennifer Dixon, RN, CDCES, MLDE

Jennifer is a registered nurse and a Certified Diabetes Educator. She has worked in diabetes for 16 years and been certified since 2009. She teaches Diabetes Education in Pulaski and Russell counties. She is a member of the Kentucky Diabetes Network. She is the supervisor for the Biometric Screening Program for Lake Cumberland District Health Department and Louisville. She received her Associate Degree in 2000 from Eastern KY University and her Bachelor Degree in 2004 from Eastern KY University. Her office is located at the Lake Cumberland District Health Department.

Amy Huff is a Registered Nurse, who joined the Wellness Outreach and Education Program in July 2022. She is working towards obtaining her certification as an Apprentice Diabetes Educator at this time. She will be teaching Diabetes Education in McCreary and Wayne County as well as providing Biometric Screenings in both McCreary and Wayne County. Amy received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2002 from Eastern Kentucky University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2017. Amy worked in a long-term care for 20 years as a nurse before transferring to the Diabetes Program. Amy’s office is located at Wayne County Health Department in Monticello, Kentucky.

DeAnn Cross is the Administrative Secretary and has been with the Lake Cumberland District Health Department since September 2005 which she worked in the School Health Program for 15 years. She started working part-time with the Wellness Outreach and Education Team 3 years ago and slowly transferred over to full-time in June 2020. DeAnn is located at the District office in Somerset, KY, and will be taking your calls to register for classes!
