2025 Dr. Hossein Fallahzadeh Public Health Hero Award nominations now being accepted

Nominees are accepted and reviewed for the following criteria:

• Display exemplary leadership and diligence in promoting public health.

• Have made remarkable contributions and support in fostering public health programs.

• Work or actions will have impacted the community’s health in a positive way.

• Must live and/or work in the Lake Cumberland District.

This award was first presented in 2022 to the late Dr. Hossein Fallahzadeh, a long-time surgeon in Somerset and board member for the Lake Cumberland District Board of Health. The award was then named in his honor.

Previous recipients include:

• 2024 Christy Stearns, M.S., Clinton County Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent

• 2023 Dr. Richard Miles, a Russell Springs physician for over 40 years.
