En este momento el Departamento de Salud del Distrito de Lake Cumberland (LCDHD) ha tenido 189 casos positivos o que se presume positivos en nuestros 10 condados. A pesar del número de casos confirmados en cualquier condado de Lake Cumberland, pensamos que el COVID-19 sea esparcido. El LCDHD está trabajando con el Departamento de Salud Pública de Kentucky para identificar y contactar a todos aquellos que puedan haber estado en contacto con ellos.

Tuvimos 5 casos nuevos hoy, 4 en Adair (3 atados a un hogar de ancianos) y 1 en McCreary. No hay nuevas muertes y hay 2 casos liberados del aislamiento. Además, publicamos en nuestro sitio web y redes sociales orientación para iglesias.

Estamos trabajando agresivamente para facilitar los sitios de prueba en todos los condados de Lake Cumberland. También estamos trabajando para obtener una lista precisa de las instalaciones médicas locales que proporcionan pruebas para que podamos publicar una lista de los sitios de pruebas locales.

Finalmente, a medida que estén disponibles, estamos revisando las guias del Gobernador sobre la reapertura de negocios. Hemos tenido reuniones de Zoom con los jueces y alcaldes del condado, los fiscales del condado y las cámaras de comercio para prepararnos para una reapertura sin problemas de la economía local

Se cree que el virus se transmite principalmente de persona a persona:

How the Virus Spreads

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person: 1) between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet), 2) via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

How to Reduce Your Risk

Avoiding crowds as much as possible is your best way to reduce your risk.
Wash your hands with soap and water often and thoroughly.
Wear a mask when out in public.
Stay home if you have a fever or are coughing.
Increase sanitation.
Avoid touching your face.

There are several locations across the state vaccinating. You may call 1-855-598-2246, or visit vaccine.ky.gov to find out if you are eligible and where you can receive the vaccine. Remember, supplies are still limited, it may take several weeks to secure an appointment.

What LCDHD is Doing

Performing case and close contact investigations and issuing isolation and quarantine orders for positive COVID-19 cases and high-risk close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Taking every opportunity to remind the public to individually observe COVID-19 prevention guidance.
Responding to complaints of non-compliance with the Governor’s guidance.
Consulting with long-term care facilities regarding best practices for preventing COVID-19; and, responding to positive cases.
Assisting businesses with their COVID-19 planning efforts.
Assisting area schools with their COVID-19 planning efforts.
Assisting area providers with COVID-19 vaccination planning.
Provided COVID-19 vaccination clinics when supplies are available.
Providing bi-weekly meetings to update the media and public on COVID-19 in our region.
