Abbott Nutrition Formula Recall (Feb. 2022)

The FDA is investigating consumer complaints of Cronobacter and  Salmonella infections among children reported to have consumed powdered infant formula produced by Abbott Nutrition. Abbott has initiated a voluntary recall of products including Similac, Alimentum and EleCare powdered formulas. The Kentucky Department for Public Health recommends:

  • Do not use or consume products with a multidigit number on the bottom of the container starting with the first two digits 22 through 37, contains K8, SH or Z2 and with an expiration date of April 1, 2022 or later. Product lot codes can be entered on the Abbott company website to check if products are part of the recall.
  • Contact your child’s healthcare provider if concerned about the health of your infant.
  • Contact your child’s healthcare provider and seek medical care immediately if your child is ill. AbbottParentAdvisory
