Geriatric Education

Our Geriatric education program is conducted in each County’s Senior Citizens Centers.  Our goal is to prevent and postpone disease and disability to maintain the well-being, independence and mobility of an aging population.

The Health Educators and the Nursing Staff focus their education on the physical and mental changes of aging, the specific needs and tasks of older adults, and the issues of loss and adjustment of lifestyle that accompany the aging process.  People who benefit from geriatric services generally belong to a specific age group. 

Blood pressure checks, yearly health screenings, and flu shots are provided at your Senior Citizen Centers.  Join us at your Senior Center.

Health Educators are strategically housed in each local health departments to mobilize communities toward healthier choices.  Click on your county on the map to view your Health Educator’s information.
